Baseboard, Trim & Crown Molding
Baseboards, casing and crown molding fitted and finished by the same crew as your floors — the detail that makes a room look done.
A beautiful floor with tired, gappy baseboards looks unfinished — because it is. Royal Wood Flooring's trim service closes the loop: baseboards, door and window casing, crown molding and the transition pieces that make a room look designed rather than assembled. It is the natural final step of any flooring project, and a worthwhile upgrade entirely on its own.
Our carpenters cope crown corners instead of relying on miters that open with the seasons, fit baseboards tight to fresh floors, and finish everything to the standard the rest of our work sets. Add trim to a flooring quote, or book it as its own project.
What You Get with Our Baseboard, Trim & Crown Molding
Baseboards that finish the floor
New baseboards fitted after flooring — the detail that makes a new floor look intentional, not installed.
Crown molding, coped corners
Crown fitted with coped inside corners that stay tight through Arizona's seasonal movement.
Door & window casing
Casing matched to your trim package for a whole-room, designed look.
Paint-grade & stain-grade
MDF and finger-joint for paint; solid species-matched wood for stain — chosen per room and budget.
Shoe mold & transitions
Quarter-round, shoe and transition strips that close the gaps other installers leave.
One crew with your floor
Trim done by the flooring team, sequenced perfectly with installation or refinishing.
Options & Materials
Trim is chosen by profile, material and finish. Profiles run from simple modern square-edge to traditional ogee and colonial patterns; heights from standard 3¼-inch baseboards to statement 5¼ and 7¼-inch. Paint-grade materials keep cost down where paint is the finish; stain-grade solid wood matches floors and doors in formal rooms. Crown molding adds the ceiling line — sized to ceiling height (taller rooms take bigger crown). We bring profile samples; trim is a touch-and-see decision.
How the Job Works, Step by Step
- 1
Free consultation & measuring
It starts with a free consultation. We look at your existing openings, talk through what you want to change, take exact measurements and note anything unusual — out-of-square frames, deep sills, HOA rules — that affects the plan.
- 2
Written quote, no pressure
You receive a written quote that spells out the product, the scope and the total price. No vague allowances, no pressure to sign on the spot. Take the time you need to compare.
- 3
Order & scheduling
Once you approve, your products are ordered or made to the exact measurements from step one. We confirm an installation date that fits your schedule and tell you how long the work will take.
- 4
Installation day
Our installers protect floors and furniture, remove the old units, fit the new ones, seal and trim the openings, and test every unit before they leave. Most homes are finished the same day.
- 5
Walkthrough & cleanup
We walk the finished work with you, show you how everything operates, register any warranty paperwork and take all packaging and old materials away. The room is left clean and ready to use.
Care & Maintenance
Painted and stained trim wants gentle handling: dust with a soft brush, wash marks with a damp cloth, and touch up scuffs with matching paint before they collect grime. Caulk lines at floors and ceilings can be renewed in minutes when they crack with seasonal movement. Keep leftover profile names and paint colors in your home file for future rooms.
What Affects the Price?
No two homes in Phoenix are the same, so honest pricing starts with a look at your actual project. These are the factors that move the number most:
- Linear footage and number of rooms
- Profile size and material — MDF, finger-joint pine, solid wood
- Paint-grade versus stain-grade work
- Ceiling height and complexity for crown molding
- Removal of old trim and wall condition
For general planning numbers, see our Price Guide — those are market ranges, not our prices. Your exact, written price comes free with your quote: call (602) 446-2613.

Baseboard, Trim & Crown Molding — Frequently Asked Questions
Can you add trim work to my flooring job?+
Yes — trim finishing is one of our seven services, and combining it with flooring saves a second contractor and a second schedule. The flooring quote can include it line by line.
Do you install crown molding too?+
Yes. Crown molding is part of this service — measured, coped at the corners (not just mitered), and finished to furniture standard.
What is the difference between paint-grade and stain-grade?+
Both. Paint-grade (MDF or finger-joint) is the value choice for painted trim; stain-grade solid wood matches hardwood floors and doors. We show samples of each.
Can you replace just my old baseboards?+
Yes — replacing dated baseboards is one of the cheapest ways to modernize a room, and it pairs naturally with refinishing when the baseboards are already coming off.
How much do baseboard, trim & crown molding cost?+
The honest answer is that it depends on size, material and the condition of the existing opening. Beware of anyone who quotes a firm price without measuring. Royal Wood Flooring LLC measures first and then gives you a written quote with the full price — free — so you can compare it properly.
How long does a typical baseboard, trim & crown molding project take?+
Measuring and ordering take the first part of the timeline; the on-site work for most homes is completed in a day. Larger or custom projects take longer, and we give you the schedule in writing before you commit, so you can plan around it.
Do you offer free estimates?+
Yes — call (602) 446-2613 and we will arrange a free consultation and written quote. There is no obligation and no pressure to decide on the spot.
Do you serve my part of Phoenix?+
Royal Wood Flooring LLC serves the areas listed on our Service Areas page. If your neighborhood is close to a listed area but not named, call us — we will tell you straight away whether we can reach you.
What should I prepare before installation day?+
Clear the area around each opening, take down curtains or blinds if we are not replacing them, and move fragile items away from the work zone. Our team protects floors and furniture, and removes the old units and packaging when the job is done.
Can baseboard, trim & crown molding be customized for unusual sizes or shapes?+
In most cases, yes. Arches, angled tops, oversized openings and out-of-square frames are measured individually and made or ordered to fit. Bring us the awkward opening — it is usually the one that benefits most from a custom solution.
What information helps my quote be accurate?+
Rough measurements (width × height in inches), a photo of each opening, and a note about what you want to change. Send those when you call (602) 446-2613 and your written quote will be faster and closer to the final number.
What happens if something is not right after the job?+
Call us. Royal Wood Flooring LLC stands behind its work: if something we supplied or installed is not right, we come back and make it right. That is how a local business keeps its name — one fixed problem at a time.
